Disability Awareness Event Held at ÇAKÜ

Çankırı Karatekin University (ÇAKÜ) organized an awareness event as part of the World Disability Week, observed from May 10 to 16.

The event, held in front of ÇAKÜ Tuzluk Cafe, was organized by the Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Health Sciences in collaboration with the Disability Unit of Çankırı Municipality. The event brought together Rector Prof. Dr. Harun Çiftçi, ÇAKÜ faculty members, students, special individuals, and their families.

In his speech, Rector Çiftçi emphasized the importance of raising awareness during the World Disability Week and expressed his pleasure in participating in this event organized jointly by the Faculty of Health Sciences` Department of Social Work and Çankırı Municipality.

Rector Çiftçi noted that investments and awareness activities for individuals in need of care, including those with disabilities and special needs, are key indicators of a socially responsible state. He stated, "At Çankırı Karatekin University, we have made significant investments in this area. Wherever there are people, our university is there. We are a university that considers people`s issues as its own and aims to achieve great things together." Rector Çiftçi also announced that more diverse events would be organized in the future and thanked all participants for their involvement.

Following Rector Prof. Dr. Harun Çiftçi’s speech, the program continued with a meal offered to the guests and a tree-planting activity. The event concluded with handprint art on a wall and tours of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the library.
